Fiona Hall, the Liberal Democrat Euro-MP for the North East, visited Prior Pursglove College in the Tees Valley today.

Ms Hall spoke to sixth form students about her work as an MEP and the workings of the European Parliament. There was also a question and answer session with students.

Commenting after the visit, Ms Hall said:

'The students were very interested and well informed and asked a range of questions, for instance, about how the EU works, the EU budget and the Common Agricultural Policy.

'I spoke to the students about my work in the Industry and Development Committees, and about the political groups in the Parliament.

'I always welcome the opportunity to explain to people what I do. It was a very enjoyable session.'
